Keep associations constant make macros if you have to, and keep the colours consistent. Use colours that do not match the UI or general screen colour. It's all good associating your hits with the colour red, only to find the fiery background obscures your vision. This all links in with my last thread about UI placement with eye focusing & brain sides.Īvoid using colours that blend or clash with the environment I seriously recommend using girly pastel colours.

With enough training you'll be able to see the vague colours of your UI bars through your 'extended vision' and just know what cooldowns you have available. So finding a suitable colour that is independent from other UI features will allow you to manage all of your cooldowns without so much as looking at your bars. Green is always associated with health - whether you like it or not if I say green it's not 'plague strike' or another ability that pops to mind - it's health. But we can push this to even better standards.Īvoid certain colours avoiding 'frequent flyer' colours such as green symbols will help you associate certain parts of your UI without you actually needing to acknowledge them fully. Little do most know, this can be used to our advantage very effectively in the right circumstance.įirst of all, it's important to know some of the pre-ordained bias' you'll probably have from playing World of Warcraft, such as health being green, priests being white etc. This is just one example of colour association and a trained bias in your perception - this is done through the repeated association of paladins and the colour pink (as it is their class colour). How is this already being used in my game play? If we see a small black & yellow thing we can assume it's gonna hurt us, it's a natural assumption we've learned - and it's just by the colours on it. Wasps are coloured yellow & black because they signify danger to other creatures hoverflies copied this as a defensive mechanism. If you don’t think this is a final big hoorah to cash grab WOTLK passes for boosts your insane.Colour association plays a big part in our lives and is in fact a naturally occurring thing. I do care about the quality of the game from a mechanical standpoint being lowered under the guise of the “community” when if they really cared they would have done it 4 years ago in classic as soon as it started. I’ve made most of my money of GDKPS and my 16 profession alts pumping cloths, pots, flasks, BoE epics etc… I could care less if boosting is removed. The people who already sold boosts and have gold cap characters literally just had the value of the gold people seem to hate so muchs value increased massively while making it so normal players cant ever catch up on top of the fact normal grouping and people doing dungeons the traditional way a massive un-needed headache. Who cares its SM and sells for 10g/run.īreaking core game mechanics in the name of the “community” 4 years after boosting has been going on, and solo farms does nothing but hurt the normal player. Scarlet you kill 1 boss in armory and 1 boss combo in Cath. It literally sells for 5g/run and you make less running these then going and getting 4 primals in the same amount of time on 5 lockouts Stockades you kill 2 bosses, however who cares its stockades. SP first boss would take forever with healing ward not to mention the HP pool. It would take exponentially longer for one.

This is what FFXIV did and it works splendidly. In dungeons just make it so XP and drops are tied to bosses and make it so trash mobs give no XP. Gold on all the servers is so inflated, removing farms just pulls the ladder away from regular players to never catch up to the people who got to use these farms for years and makes their gold worth even more. You say you make these changes for the community, however it seems they are soley for the purpose of getting more 70 boost sales in WOTLK. If the grey mob xp nerf stays in on WOTLK, people are going to lose their minds when they cant run with a buddy 4-5 levels higher than them because no XP.

Take the L and go about this a different way.

MAGE DROPS RFC WOW CLASSIC PATCH

I think its time to roll back the patch and change up how you go about this. The way you have the xp cut for grey mobs is a nightmare for large dungeons like BRD, Uldaman, SM wings etc…

However with the change you just made it a nightmare to run these normally. The only dungeons you removed boosting from are Stock, SM and Mara. SP is still being cleared by mages and paladins
